Doctor examining cervical spine X-ray

Cervical Radiculopathy is the irritation or compression of one or more Nerve Roots in the Cervical Spine region. Symptoms of this condition may include pain, weakness, numbness and tingling, and may vary depending on the level of the injury. Affected areas may include the shoulder, arm and hand.

Causes could include a Herniated Disc (a rupture in the fibrous outer wall of a vertebral disc), Degenerative Disc Disease or Spinal Stenosis (the degeneration of bones, discs or joints of the spine resulting in spurs that push into the spinal canal or Foramen Space). This can also create harmful pressure against the Spinal Cord or nerve roots.
